Pioneer DJ DJM-A9

The Pioneer DJ DJM-A9 is a four-channel DJ mixer for professionals. New features include improved sound quality thanks to 32-bit A/D and D/A converters, an innovative Center Lock mechanism for Sound Color FX and an improved microphone section with its own effects. We've come a long way

In 1996 Pioneer DJ introduced the first mixer, the Pioneer DJ DJM-500, specially aimed towards DJs. This relatively primitive mixer had all the basic functionality that we still see on Pioneer DJ mixers today. The DJM mixers are withouth doubt the industry standard; still as reliable and robust as ever. The previous flagship mixer, the Pioneer DJ DJM-900 NXS2, was launched in 2016 and with the arrival of the Pioneer DJ CDJ-3000 tabletop media player it was inevitable that the corresponding mixer would also evolve. This Pioneer DJ DJM-A9 is therefore future-proof and suitable for the current and next generation of DJs. It is the new industry standard for clubs, festivals and events worldwide.

The DJM-A9 is a 4-channel professional DJ mixer that has a number of notable improvements and new features compared to its predecessor. First of all, stunningly superior sound quality. The DJM-A9 uses the very latest technology and components, including high-quality ESS Technology 32-bit A/D and D/A converters for the inputs and outputs.

More control

The Pioneer DJ DJM-A9  has more space around the EQ knobs, bright LEDs in the mixer section, optimized frequency bands for the EQ section, updated channel faders and a third generation Magvel crossfader!

Sound Color FX with the world's first Center Lock

When the brand new Center Lock mechanism is enabled and DJs are using the Sound Color FX, each knob will stop turning when it reaches the center position. This mechanical technology means that the DJ cannot turn the knob too far and accidentally reactivate the effect. It takes some getting used to, but will soon feel familiar and gives you confidence on stage as a DJ.

Redesigned Beat FX

A new color display helps DJs quickly and accurately check the status of the selected Beat FX. It also now has light indicators that match the horizontal position of the X-Pad, making using the Beat FX a lot more intuitive. There are 14 Beat FX, including 3 new effects: Mobius, Triplet Filter and Triplet Roll.

Improved microphone section

Thanks to the phantom-powered input, condenser microphones can also be connected directly to the DJM-A9. In addition, you have 3 new microphone effects (Echo, Pitch and Megaphone) at your disposal, allowing DJs to augment the sound of their voices to excite the crowd. With its own parameter you can easily set these effects to your liking.

More extensive connectivity

2 different PC/Mac systems can be connected at the same time thanks to the dual USB Type-B and USB Type-C ports (there are 2 of each). Wireless audio can be sent to any channel via Bluetooth. The Multi I/O section now includes independent channel selection, making the send and return even more powerful in combination with with, for example, external effects. There's also dual headphone outputs, each with their own respective cue buttons, volume knobs and mix balance knobs, allowing B2B (back-to-back) DJs to pre-listen tracks independently. Finally, as a FOH engineer you can monitor the status of the DJM-A9 in real-time using the Stagehand app for iPad and even remotely adjust settings if necessary. Thanks to Pro DJ Link functionality, even waveforms are visible on your iPad, which makes it possible to sound check and respond to performances without disturbing the DJ.
