AlphaTheta Omnis Duo

The AlphaTheta Omnis Duo is the first controller released not under the Pioneer DJ brand, but under AlphaTheta. It is a 2-channel all-in-one controller, eliminating the need for your computer. What's even more impressive is that, thanks to the powerful built-in battery, you don't necessarily need a power outlet. In fact, with Bluetooth functionality, you can leave your cables at home! (though carrying a backup is advisable in many cases, of course).

You can use the AlphaTheta Omnis Duo for approximately 5 hours without external power when the battery is fully charged. After three hours of charging/rest, you can potentially continue with an afterparty for another 5 hours. Or, of course, you can use a power outlet if one is nearby. With AlphaTheta's new SonicLink technology, you can connect not only via Bluetooth speakers (such as the new Wave Eight) but also without noticeable delay/latency – it's only 0.009 seconds, which is virtually imperceptible. So, even without sync, you can perfectly beatmatch with such a setup.

The Omnis Duo features many familiar elements found in almost all Pioneer DJ products, including Touch-Sensitive jog wheels, 8 Performance Pads, and Play/Cue/Pitch per deck, Beat Jump buttons, a Rotary encoder for creating loops. The mixing section includes a 3-band EQ, Trim and Filter per channel, headphone selection, BPM effect control buttons, and a smooth crossfader. You control most functions and settings through the new full-color LCD touchscreen; the number of physical buttons on the Omnis Duo is relatively limited, providing a clean and relatively simple user experience.

Omnis Duo Bluetooth Input

That Bluetooth functionality is also available as an input! This means others can deliver music via Bluetooth, while you retain control. Anyone can connect their phone to the OMNIS-DUO via the Bluetooth input function and add a track to your set. With the Bluetooth Playback function, an industry first, you have control over the audio being played. Adjust the volume and EQ, play with effects, change the tempo, use Hot Cues, and scratch away, just as you would with tracks you've prepared yourself from other music sources. When the Bluetooth input is activated, the Omnis Duo can buffer and play a track via BT, making it usable as if the track is coming from USB. For example, you can use pitch and scratch with a track that has just been buffered from a phone app (Rekordbox app, as well as YouTube, Spotify, or Dropbox). This buffering happens in real-time, so you can never play beyond the point where it's still buffering. The maximum buffer length is 10 minutes, and you cannot save this buffer, of course. With the OMNIS-DUO and Bluetooth audio input, you and your friends can create the ultimate set together.

Music Sources on the Omnis Duo

Play music from almost any imaginable source. Connect USB Type A drives and SD cards directly to the OMNIS-DUO, and use the USB Type C connection to work with a PC or Mac if you want to use rekordbox's Performance mode. Thanks to the Wi-Fi function, you have easy wireless access to songs on a PC/Mac, smartphone, or in the cloud*. Starting next summer, there will also be support for Serato DJ Lite. *Available with Link Export and the CloudDirectPlay feature in rekordbox for Mac/Windows or rekordbox for iOS/Android.
