Inputs The H6 has four main inputs (1-4) plus 2 optional inputs (L, R) which depend on the capsule (X / Y, MS, Shotgun or Dual XLR / TRS Combo) is connected. One is uni-directional (the most sensitive to the signal from the front side), while the other bi-directional (the most sensitive to signals from the direct front side, directly back). In the H6 MS capsule the "Mid" mic records the sounds on the front while the 'Side' mic the complete 'ambience' record. If you want to interview someone or record a mix but you're too late to press the capture button it is always very annoying. Zoom thought of something brilliant. The Zoom H6's pre-record feature takes two seconds before you press the record button! Backup record: the ultimate safety. When the H6 is recording WAV it automatically duplicates L / R tracks recorded with 12dB less 'gain'. Even if the original file isn't okay, the backup probably is. Effects: on the H6 are some effects like a low-cut filter to protect the recording from pops, wind and other noise. The H6 has got three limiters and three compressors. Comp1 and Limiter1 work excellent in all environments. Comp2 and Comp3 and are especially recommended for vocals and drums. Limiter2 and Limiter3 and are perfect for live concerts.
