De Golden Age Project R1 Active MKIII is a versatile microphone that combines the best of two worlds: the warmth of a ribbon-mic and the stability of an F.E.T. amplifier. This means that you can use the R1 Active MKIII with long cables and almost every preamplifier with 48V phantom food. A clean and clear sound, yet warm and spicy, that is what the R1 Active MKIII will in most cases deliver. The microphone sounds good with the absorption of drums, as atmospheric microphone or in pairs for overhead pickup. The R1 Active MKIII is in fact a very versatile microphone, even suitable for sensitive singing shots! And even more now that the MKIII version has switches for Low-Cut and 10DB Pad.
