Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 MK4

The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 MK4 is the biggest external sound card in the new MK4 series from Focusrite. It’s got an impressive 18 inputs and 20 outputs. The 18 inputs include 2 microphone and instrument inputs on the front and 8 on the back, along with a 5-pin MIDI input, dual optical inputs, and an S/PDIF input. The last two let you add 10 digital channels using a preamp. The 20 outputs consist of 10 line outputs, which are divided into 'main' and 'alternative.' Plus, the Scarlett has a MIDI output, dual optical outputs, and an S/PDIF output. It also features Word Clock Out, so you can sync your digital gear with your physical setup.

On top of all those ins and outs, the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 MK4 has plenty more to offer, like Auto Gain. This feature adjusts the ideal volume for all channels, and when paired with Clip Safe, which prevents clipping and keeps the right volume, it gives you the freedom to focus on what really matters—recording. Plus, this Scarlett 18i20 MK4 comes with Focusrite's Air modes: Presence and Harmonic Drive, which add extra character to your instruments and give you that classic analog studio sound.
