The dbx 286s is a comprehensive Channel Strip Processor, delivering top-notch studio-quality microphone and instrument preamplification along with four processors that can be employed individually or in any combination. The dbx 286s Mic Preamp, known for its pristine sonic performance, is equipped with essential features: a wide-ranging input gain control, a switchable +48V phantom power option, and an 80Hz high-pass filter to eliminate low-frequency hum, rumble, or wind noise. Utilize the patented dbx OverEasy compressor for transparently smoothing out irregular acoustic tracks or achieving that classic "in your face" vocal intensity only a dbx compressor can provide. Say goodbye to vocal sibilance and high-frequency distortion in instruments like cymbals using the frequency-tunable De-Esser. Adjust the Enhancer HF Detail control for added sparkle and crispness in your tracks, while tuning the LF Detail control to enhance the fullness and depth of vocals and bass instruments, all the while cleaning up the muddiness in the low-midrange frequencies. Plus, the Expander/Gate's separate threshold and ratio controls enable you to subtly reduce headphone leakage or thoroughly gate noisy guitar amps.
