Dave Smith DSM02 character module is a module with five unique digital effects designed for a modular synthesizer. These effects, Girth, Air, Decimate, Hack and Drive can completely change the sound in a creative and innovative way. These are the same effects that are in the Character sections on the famous Dave Smith Prophet 12 and Pro 2 and largely determine the sound of these synths.
- Girth creates low-frequency harmonic enhancement to add sound to the weight and density
- Air creates high-frequency harmonic enhancement for definition and presence
- Decimate creates lo-fi sampling rate reduction
- Hack is a bit crusher that can distort a clean signal beyond recognition
- Drive adds distortion and saturation, with heat on the one hand and on the other harmonic overload
- 24-bit / 96kHz signal
- 14 HP Eurorack format
- 3.5mm phone jacks interconnections
- Two independent audio inputs
- Two independent audio outputs, mono / stereo
