The Akai MPC Live III Retro Edition is a powerful standalone music production center for beatmakers, producers, and live performers who want total creative freedom without a computer. It combines the beloved MPC Live III workflow with a classic retro look and feel inspired by the iconic MPCs from the late 80s. Powered by MPC3 OS and a vibrant 7-inch multi-touch display, it offers intuitive sampling, sequencing, and performance tools in one portable unit. With a next-generation Gen 2 8-core processor, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB internal storage, you can load larger projects and run more plugins for a modern production experience.
Akai MPC Live III Retro Edition features full-size RGB MPCe pads with new 3D-sensing technology for ultra-expressive beatmaking and performance, plus a 16-step sequencer and performance touch strip for real-time control. The unit has a built-in microphone for direct sampling, onboard stereo studio monitors, and an internal rechargeable battery of approximately 4 hours for mobile use. Connectivity includes 24 channels audio in/out via USB-C, 32 channels MIDI via USB-C, 8 CV/gate outputs, 2 bi-directional MIDI ports, two XLR/combo/phono inputs, and Ableton Control Mode. New unlocked features such as Pro Reverb, EQ, CV Playgroup, Clip Matrix, and Pro Stems Separation further expand the capabilities as a sampler and drum machine, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enable wireless collaboration and file transfer.
