- Automatic tagging: search your library faster with Live 12’s filters – Live automatically assigns tags to VST3 plugins and samples in your library under 60 seconds long.
- Improved Limiter and Saturator: the Limiter has been completely redesigned with enhanced metering, Mid/Side routing, True Peak, Soft Clip, and Maximize modes. The Saturator now features a Bass Shaper curve for low-end processing and a more focused user interface.
- MIDI Transformations and Generators: add ornaments and articulations, connect successive notes and chords, create curves for MPE parameters, simulate the strum of a guitar, and more. - Tuning systems: work outside the traditional 12-tone equal temperament and apply your chosen tuning to Live’s devices and any MPE-compatible plugin or hardware device.
- Keys and Scales: transform or generate ideas within the boundaries of the selected scale, or sync the scale of MIDI devices to the clip being played.
- New devices: create everything from subtle and precise mastering-grade warmth to wild and unpredictable sound degradation with Roar, Live’s new saturation and coloring effect. Explore new textures and timbres with Meld’s scale-aware sound engines. Or dive deeper with Robert Henke’s now MPE-capable granular synthesizer, Granulator III.
- MIDI Editor improvements: filter, select, and edit MIDI notes in new ways. Split a note in two or chop it into several parts. Select notes by time, pitch, velocity, chance, duration, and other properties. Use more tools from the Note Utilities panel, such as Fit to Scale, Humanize, Add Intervals, and more.
- Workflow improvements: stack Live’s Clip and Device Views to get a clearer overview of your track. Use Live’s mixer in Arrangement View for more information and control without switching to Session View. Navigate your project more easily with the improved browser, search history, and undo history. Freeze and flatten a track in a single step.
- Accessibility and navigation improvements: visually impaired musicians can now access core workflows in Live with screen readers and other assistive technologies. Use new keyboard shortcuts to navigate almost every part of Live.

Are you:
- A student currently enrolled in full-time education, 18+ years old or legal age or above in the country where you reside. Parents of a non-legal age student can purchase an educational license on behalf of their child with their child's valid student ID.
- A student currently engaged in part-time education of 20 hours or more of study time per week or a program lasting 12 months or more. The field of study is not relevant.
- A teacher currently working full-time or part-time at a school or university, in any field. Part-time and private tutors must work at least 20 hours per week to qualify.
