Product Information Roland SH-01A Gray
The original SH-101 synthesizer, which has left its stamp on contemporary music production, has become extremely rare. Many producers are looking for alternatives to get this one distinctive sound and get lost in options like replicas or software plugins inspired by the SH-101, but the sound can never compare.
Now Roland presents Roland SH-01A, a digital analog synthesizer based on Roland SH-101, but with some modern enhancements. This synth uses Roland's well-known Analog Circuit Behavior technique, which makes the circuit of this device behave like an analog device, and it actually sounds like one.
Improvements to the original SH-101 are unison, chord and four-voice polyphonic mode on this Roland SH-01A. In addition, there is a step sequencer with 64 built-in patterns as well as a transpose switch arpeggiator, 3 playback modes and note hold. Also, the device can be fully controlled with MIDI and MIDI over USB.
Like all other Roland Boutique devices, this synthesizer is small in size, but great when it comes to audio playback. The synth operates on batteries or through a USB charger (not included) and is compatible with the K-25M keyboard unit. This is the gray Roland SH-01 version. This boutique device has also been produced in limited blue and red designs.
