Patch Blocks are modules to be programmed in the way you want. Software, and a patch block is all you need. This programming does not have to be in code, but can be easily done visually. The patch blocks are similar to modular synthesis, but in software. The virtual modules include oscillators, filters, or delays. There are even modules for algorithmic composition.
